BUTTERFLY LIFE CYCLE
Spring is here! There is no better way to celebrate spring than to study the beautiful life that blossoms.

Students will meet a professional gardener and butterfly expert to learn how to grow a butterfly garden. Various species of butterflies and pollinators rely on our gardens for nectar to survive. We will learn the importance of how butterflies contribute to our ecosystem. Students will build a nursery and raise caterpillars.
By observing the changes of our caterpillars, students will become experts in developing a hypothesis and scientific note-taking. In this unit, we will incorporate art into our science learning. Students will paint a watercolor butterfly and create a butterfly glass mosaic.

All registrations must be submitted by April 22, 2021. Your complete science kit will be mailed to your home address prior to class.

This class will be taught live online via Zoom. Registered students will receive login instructions. Some simple preparation or setting out the materials is required prior to each class. Estimated 15 minutes is needed.
